With Covid restrictions phasing out and anticipated quarantine abolition from March 2022, Indonesia looks set to be on the pathway to reopen in time for the 2022 MotoGP World Championship in Kuta Mandalika Lombok, Indonesia.

With accommodation on Lombok Island sparse due to the anticipated amount of spectators, we advise booking soon to secure transportation and accommodation for the race weekend.

Various provisions exist, such as glamping and camping facilities near the track site; however, if you have transportation, multiple accommodations are available across the island of varying degrees of luxury and proximity.

Travelling to the race

Kuta Mandalika is located on the southern tip of Lombok, which is primarily located close to the airport within a 20-minute drive to the small town and adjacent Mandalika Street Circuit Track.

Currently, only domestic flights are accessing the island via significant cities such as Surabaya, Jakarta, or Bali. All are within a short flight distance; we hope that international airline traffic shall resume for the event.

Other key options for accommodation during the event would be Mataram, an hour and a half drive, or Senggigi, a short distance further and more tailored to tourism. At the same time, Mataram is the capital city of the island.

It may also be worth looking at other smaller towns such as Praya and others for more basic simple homestay accommodation closer to the event.

The local town of Kuta, where Villa Amani is located, has all the resources and amenities you need, including excellent restaurants, supermarkets, and many other things to do. We expect large amounts of traffic during the lead up to and during the race weekend so ensure you are prepared.
