Villa Amani, 3 Bedroom Villa Kuta Lombok

Best Villa in Lombok

Are you looking for the best villa in Lombok to enjoy your stay on the beautiful tropical island of Lombok? Then look no further!

Visiting Lombok

Lombok Island is only a twenty-minute flight from Bali and boasts awe-inspiring natural scenery, rich cultural diversity, and some of the best beaches, mountains, and surf in the world.

For many years, Lombok has been known for the five-star resort hotels and independent villas found along its north-eastern coast, namely in Senggigi as well as the three Gili Islands to its north.

In the last five years, Lombok has developed, and a more independent, boutique style of accommodation can be found along the south coast, in and around Kuta and Selong Belanak.

South Lombok

The south of Lombok offers a more natural and unscripted experience, with arguably far nicer beaches and a less developed and more natural feeling to the area.

South Lombok also attracts a younger European clientele, and because of this, it is host to many wonderful international restaurants, cafés, and coffee shops for tourists and locals to enjoy.

When searching for the best villa in Lombok, there are many options and many locations worth considering; however, it is our opinion that Kuta in south Lombok is both strategically and conveniently the best location to enjoy your holiday.

Since the airport moved from the north of the island to the south, Kuta is only a short drive from the International Praya Airport.

The close proximity to the airport and ferry ports makes the south of Lombok very easily accessible and convenient, especially now that international flights are flying directly to the airport.

The best villa in Lombok

Villa Amani in Kuta Lombok is arguably one of the best villas in Lombok due to its central location and beautiful tropical design.  Most importantly is Villa Amani’s secluded privacy and excellent team members to ensure your stay is both memorable and enjoyable.

To ensure Villa Amani is the best villa in Lombok, we have worked to ensure the property is perfectly designed and meticulously maintained, and we have created a number of community-led experiences for guests to enjoy.

And when guests stay in Villa Amani, the best villa in Lombok, they can rest assured that we do all we can to ensure the villa is both sustainable, stylish, and welcoming.

Things to do in Lombok

Lombok is an island with a variety of different landscapes and environments that yield endless things to do and explore.

Most people come to Lombok for surfing, wellness, or to explore the beaches, but there is so much more to do on this incredible island, including tracking, walking, or just soaking up the astonishing natural beauty of Lombok.

We have put together a couple of our favorite things to do when on the island of Lombok, and being located in Kuta Lombok, Villa Amani is the perfect staging point for the whole island.

Located close to the International Airport and the new Mandalika MotoGP track, Kuta has fantastic connections from both air, land, and sea.

My wife and photographer Alina Zhuravlova loves Lombok as it is a stark juxtaposition to her usual work in fashion and retail photography. We’ve compiled some of her most recent work from when we were last on the island for your enjoyment.

Lombok remains a place for inspiration and relaxation, which we hope we can share with you.

Resort or Private Villa in Lombok

When booking holidays you’re often faced with the dilemma whether to book a resort, hotel or private villa.

Interiors at Villa Amani in Kuta Lombok

With Kuta Lombok expanding its options of accommodation, many people are now torn about whether to look for a resort or private villa, both of which are still in relatively limited supply compared to homes and small hotels.

In this article, we hope to outline some of the pros and cons of staying in a resort or a private villa and outline some of the benefits that we offer here at Villa Amani Lombok and the Niyama Villas.

The Differences Between a Resort and a Private Villa

The difference between a resort and a villa is that a resort has everything on site—restaurants, entertainment, activities, etc. Resorts also tend to have many guests.

Villas are more private, luxury residences designed for a relaxed, intimate feeling. The number of rooms is limited, usually enough for a multi-family vacation. It is not uncommon for villas to have private pools, private balconies, and private beaches.

Something Unique

In most cases, the larger resorts are part of a larger management company, so in our experience, although there is an element of certainty, you often lose the personal touches and local elements that individual villa owners can give to their properties.

Privacy and Space

The ultimate benefit of a private villa is that you have complete privacy, and guests warrant discretionary service tailored to their needs. So if you’re looking for that perfect vacation to spend time with friends, loved ones, or family, a private villa allows you the space and peace to do this.

Tailored facilities and amenities

As resorts usually have many facilities and amenities onsite with private villas, owners and managers are often more creative in the additional facilities and amenities they can provide guests.

At Villa Amani Kuta Lombok, for example, although we have a huge pool and various fitness equipment onsite, we also offer a range of wellness and fitness activities the guests can engage in from the comfort of their villa.

food and beverage

Most resorts have restaurants on-site; private villas do not; however, in the case of Villa Amani Kuta Lombok, we are close to the town center, which has a wide variety of restaurants, cafés, and dining options.

Also, with the private villa, you have a large kitchen and entertainment area that are perfect for cooking at home, ordering takeout from the many restaurants close by, or even hiring one of our recommended personal chefs to cater.

With dietary requirements and people wishing to know more about the food, they consume the private villa, which offers a flexible and transparent approach to good, wholesome food and dining.

The final word
Obviously, there are pros and cons to staying at a resort or a private villa; however, in the case of Villa Amani and Niyama, the service model and guest offerings have been lovingly prepared to offer a more unique experience to guests.

So when booking your next holiday, instead of just another cookie-cutter hotel or resort, try something different and private and create meaningful, memorable experiences.

Sustainable villa design in Kuta Lombok

From the layout of the house to the appliances you fill it with, there are many things you can do to make your home more eco-friendly.

When it comes to a new villa build, there are many things you can do to minimize the impact on the environment, from the construction to actually living in your new home.

It’s crucial to do your research and get these decisions right in the planning stages, as many things can be expensive, not to mention wasteful, to change later.

We try to incorporate as many sustainable initiatives as possible into Villa Amani Kuta Lombok, in both design and action.

Sustainable homes may be sustainable in the way they’re built, from the building materials used to the building techniques, or eco-friendly to live in—or preferably both!

We’ll look at different ideas, tips, and inspiration for designing a sustainable home.

When it comes to sustainable house design, the first thing you’ll need to do is choose the right location.

For more details, contact our friends at

A few location factors can influence how eco-friendly your home and/or lifestyle will be:

Proximity to infrastructure: Installing new infrastructure and utility systems will inevitably have a huge impact on the local environment, so try to look for a site that takes advantage of existing infrastructure, unless you’re planning to go off-grid.

Proximity to transportation: sustainable house design has wider considerations than the house itself. For example, living near public transportation can help you pursue a much more eco-friendly lifestyle compared to driving your car everywhere. So consider how close your potential new home is to public transport routes, and look for a site within walking distance if possible. Walkscore is a great resource to check how walkable your new neighborhood is.

Vulnerability to natural disasters: Many regions are prone to natural disasters of one kind or another, so it’s not always possible to avoid this. However, if you build your house in an area vulnerable to flooding, earthquakes, or hurricanes, for example, make sure it is built to withstand such disasters so that it is sustainable over the long term.

Building materials can be harmful to the environment in a variety of ways, from the air, water, and land pollution they generate in production to the energy required to create them.

When it comes to sustainable house design, it’s important to consider the embodied energy—the total impact of all greenhouse gas emissions created by a given material throughout its entire lifecycle—of solar panels.

Using recycled materials not only avoids many of these issues, but it also prevents these items from ending up in landfills. There is a large range of such building materials available these days, from those that were originally used for the same purpose, such as recycled tiles, to materials that have been completely repurposed, such as composite decking made from recycled plastic.

Some of the fantastic recycled building materials you’ll find to aid you with your sustainable house design and building project are:

  • Bamboo
  • Composites
  • Recycled glass countertops
  • Doors, floors, and other elements made from wood reclaimed from demolished or remodeled buildings
  • Bricks and masonry that have also been reclaimed from old buildings
  • Roof shingles made from recycled car tires
  • Landscaping soil from excavations

If you cannot find recycled materials, try to go for those that are recyclable to minimize their long-term impact on the environment.

Use locally sourced building materials; we are big on this at Villa Amani.

Another way to keep your building materials eco-friendly is to source them locally as much as possible. Transporting local materials will generate fewer emissions compared to supplies that need to come from across the country or even across the world.

This may mean adapting your design to take advantage of the amazing materials available in your area. You may need to rethink the kind of house you want, but this will give your new home an authentic, local vibe!

You may even decide to build your home in a certain location based on the local building materials that are available.

When drafting your sustainable house design blueprint, taking energy efficiency into account can make a huge difference to the building’s impact on the environment. Any structure with a large surface area is less energy-efficient, as the increased surface area allows more heat to escape.

Therefore, a taller and more compact house is generally more energy-efficient than a low and wide structure with the same number of square feet. Similarly, cubes and spheres are more efficient than more irregular, spread-out shapes.

An eco-friendly home goes far beyond the design, location, and building materials you use—you also need to consider the appliances you use. Sustainable house design is also about filling your home with appliances that consume less energy, which is not only better for the environment but will also greatly reduce your energy bills or let you run your home on renewable energy.

Manufacturers are now offering low-energy appliances in just about any niche you can think of, from washing machines to kitchen appliances. At a minimum, look for Energy Star-rated appliances—this should cover everything from computers and TVs to kitchen appliances and water heaters.

LED lighting is also much more energy-efficient and lasts much longer. Even though it requires a larger upfront investment, this pays itself off over time because you won’t need to change your LED light bulbs for years!

While energy-efficient appliances can make a difference, your heating and cooling are even more important, as this is where most homes’ energy consumption comes from. Therefore, energy-efficient HVAC (heat ventilation and air conditioning) is a key part of sustainable house design.

Nature is your friend.
To maximize the energy efficiency of your sustainable house design, it’s important to consider not only how much energy you use but also where that energy comes from. Therefore, being more energy-efficient while relying on renewable energy is a win-win for sustainability!

One of the most popular (and best) ways to power your home with renewable energy is by using solar panels. It is relatively easy to install a solar system in your home to give you free, eco-friendly energy while adding value to your home.

Sustainable house design starts from where you decide to build your home and the layout you choose, to how you power it and the insulation.

There are many ways you can make your home more eco-friendly, ranging from smaller actions such as switching out the traditional grass lawn to the kind of house you choose to build. You may choose a sustainable tiny home or prefab house, but there are plenty of other ways to make your house more environmentally friendly.
